Gokul Ootupura – Outlet Opening

The Challenge
Gokul Ootupura was opening a new outlet and needed a campaign that cut through Kerala’s busy food scene while protecting its classic vegetarian South Indian identity. The challenge was to introduce the outlet with freshness and excitement, yet keep the brand’s traditional charm instantly recognisable to both loyal patrons and new customers.
The Pop-Take
We built the idea around a clever visual twist: transforming the iconic uzhunnu vada and idli into the O in “Open.” The banana leaf backdrop grounded the design in South Indian culture. The result was a playful, unmistakably regional announcement that made the new outlet feel both welcoming and memorable.
The Result
The campaign drew immediate attention, delivering a warm, culturally rooted welcome to the new outlet. It also translated directly into strong footfall, pulling curious newcomers and long-term patrons through the doors. The idea resonated widely, earning recognition across Pepper, Maddys and Big Bang for its charm, simplicity and cultural relevance.
